This article explains how agents who signed up in SureLC as an Individual change to Licensed Only Agent (LOA). The steps depend on the product line.

In this article we'll cover:

  • Change ACA contracts to LOA

  • Change Medicare and Life contracts to LOA

  • What changing the DBA tab does not do

Change ACA Contracts to LOA

For ACA contracts, update the DBA tab in SureLC from Individual to Licensed Only Agent. No recontract is required.

SureLC's DBA setting controls how business is written and how commissions are paid.

Change Medicare and Life Contracts to LOA

For Medicare and Life contracts, changing the DBA tab does not convert existing contracts. You must recontract under LOA.

Step 1: Submit new carrier contract requests. In SureLC, go to Contracting > Requests and submit new carrier contract requests (request type: Contract).

Step 2: Complete missing profile information. Complete any missing profile information so Create Request is enabled.

For the full request flow, see How to Create a Contracting Request.

What Changing the DBA Tab Does Not Do

  • Changing the DBA tab does not convert existing Medicare or Life contracts to LOA.

  • LOA is not locked forever at initial setup. ACA uses the DBA tab; Medicare and Life use a new contracting request.
