When running a Medicare quote in MyMFG, agents will reach Step 2, where they have the option to access the BEQ (Beneficiary Eligibility Query) report.
The BEQ report provides important details about the client's Medicare eligibility and enrollment status, helping ensure accurate plan recommendations.
The BEQ report is not generated automatically. To run the report, the agent must answer Yes to the question asking if they would like to view the BEQ report. If Yes is not selected, the BEQ report will not be pulled.
This report also includes whether the client has Medicaid coverage and their Low-Income Subsidy (LIS) level.
While the BEQ indicates whether the client is enrolled in Medicaid and their LIS status, it does not display the specific level of Medicaid coverage. To confirm the Medicaid level (e.g., QMB, SLMB), agents must log in to the carrier's portal. Applies to Medicare only.
This article covers Medicaid status for Medicare clients specifically. For ACA Marketplace clients, Medicaid comes up in a different context. See Medicaid — ACA vs. Medicare Context — Fin Reference Guide for how to tell the two apart.
BEQ Requirements
To trigger the BEQ during a quote, the following client information must be entered in the client profile:
Date of Birth
Last Name
Medicare Number (MBI)
Without this information, the BEQ will not populate.
