Ready to Sell (RTS): What It Means and How to Check Your Status

What "Ready to Sell" means

Ready to Sell (RTS) means a carrier has confirmed you are fully appointed and certified to sell that carrier's products. RTS is specific to a product type (for example, Medicare Advantage vs. ACA), a carrier, and a state — being RTS with one carrier in one state does not carry over to others.

How to check your RTS status yourself

You can view every carrier you are Ready to Sell for directly in MyMFG:

  1. 2. Click Other at the top right

  2. 3. Choose My Profile

  3. 4. On the right side of the screen, click View My RTS Report

The report shows the list of carriers you are currently Ready to Sell for. Check here first — it is the fastest way to confirm your status.

When you become Ready to Sell

When a carrier completes your appointment, they send you an RTS confirmation email directly. After that email arrives, MyMFG permissions update automatically within 48 hours.

During that window, you may notice plans you expect to sell are not yet enrollable in MyMFG (for example, a gray Enroll button on a plan you can quote). This is normal — the system is provisioning your permissions.

If your RTS Report doesn't show a carrier you expect

Two common reasons:

Timing: if your RTS email arrived within the last 48 hours, permissions may still be provisioning. Check the report again after the window passes.

Roster timing: Medicare permissions in MyMFG are enabled automatically only when your writing number comes through on the carrier's roster. Confirmation from contracting — or having your writing number in hand — does not by itself add the permission. If you provide your writing number directly, the support team must manually check and add the permission, so there can be a gap between "the carrier says I'm appointed" and "MyMFG lets me enroll."

After Producer Support manually adds your permissions, sign out of MyMFG and sign back in for the changes to take effect.

If it has been more than 48 hours since your RTS email and the report or your enrollment access still isn't right, contact Producer Support with these details so the team can investigate:

  • Product type (Medicare, ACA, ancillary)

  • Carrier name

  • State or states

  • Your NPN (National Producer Number)

  • Your writing number for that carrier, if you have it

If you are already contracted

If you are already RTS, contracted, or appointed with a carrier, you do not need to submit a contracting request in SureLC — that step is already complete. Use the RTS Report to confirm your status, and contact Producer Support if something looks wrong.

If you are not yet contracted with a carrier

If you have never been appointed with a carrier you want to sell, that is a contracting request: submit it through SureLC. Once the carrier approves the appointment, you will receive the RTS email and the provisioning window described above begins.

Manual permission review (case-by-case)

Producer Support considers manual permission updates only when all of the following are true:

  • RTS status is confirmed

  • Your writing number has been received

  • Permissions were not added by the system

  • There is pending business that needs immediate access

The team avoids overriding the automated system unless necessary. After a manual add, sign out of MyMFG and sign back in for the changes to take effect.

Carriers that need manual quote/enroll permissions

For Manhattan Life and Ameritas, quote/enroll permissions must be enabled manually after RTS confirmation. You must still be Ready to Sell before these permissions can be activated. Contact Producer Support if you need them turned on.

Enrolling before you are Ready to Sell

ACA: You can complete an ACA enrollment in MyMFG even if you are not yet contracted/appointed with that carrier. You will not receive commissions until you are Ready to Sell with that carrier at the time of enrollment.

Medicare: You can quote Medicare plans for carriers MyMFG supports, but you cannot enroll a client with a carrier you are not contracted/appointed with. The system blocks enrollment until you are contracted and Ready to Sell.

Referral programs: If you have business for a carrier you are not contracted with, ACA and Medicare referral programs are available so you can still assist the client compliantly. Ask Producer Support for details.
